Partnering with the Galileo Multi-Academy Trust

Elementary Technology is proud to be the chosen AV technology partner for the Galileo Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), supporting their mission to revitalise digital learning across all their 10 primary schools. The trust recognised the need to equip their teachers with the right tools, and our goal was to modernise their classrooms, enhancing both teaching and student engagement with cutting-edge educational technology.

Understanding Needs

The journey with Galileo began with our Classroom Healthcheck®. As Anthony McGeeney, Headteacher of Galley Hill Primary School, highlighted, this process offered the trust an opportunity to step back and consider what they needed.

By visiting each classroom, we identified outdated and damaged equipment—such as old projectors, ensuring we didn’t just replace, but enhanced their capabilities.

This information helped Galileo prioritise their budget, ensuring that every investment made was strategic and aligned with their goals.

Empowering Decision-Making

We invited key decision-makers from the trust, including a Headteacher, CFO, and central IT team, to our Experience Centre. Here they could get hands-on with the tech, comparing different touchscreens, visualisers, and software in a way that online stores can’t match. This practical experience was crucial for the trust, allowing them to see firsthand how the technology could integrate into a trust-wide system and the impact it could have on teaching.

Implementation: Seamless and Disruption-Free

Once the technology was chosen, our focus shifted to ensuring a smooth and non-disruptive installation. Our install team maintained excellent communication with the schools, keeping them informed of schedules and minimising any disruptions. The new SMART MX boards, paired with the Lumio software, allowed teachers to interact more dynamically with students, especially those using 1-to-1 devices. This has made classrooms more interactive and engaging, building a collaborative learning environment.

The installation didn’t stop at the classroom. In Galley Hill Primary School, for example, we installed a new screen and audio system in the school hall, dramatically improving the quality of assemblies. Students don't need to struggle to see faded projections or hear each other ever again; the new system has boosted confidence and creativity during school performances and presentations.

Continued Support: Tailored CPD and Ongoing Collaboration

One of the key reasons Galileo Trust chose Elementary Technology was our commitment to ongoing support and professional development. We weren’t just seen as a “shop window,” where the relationship ends after purchase. Instead, we actively listened to the needs and voices of the trust, including teachers who would be using the technology daily.

Our CPD sessions were tailored not just to demonstrate the features of the new technology but to integrate them into the unique teaching styles of the staff. This personalised approach ensured that teachers felt confident using their new tools, and it encouraged them to explore new ways to engage their students.

For example, Lumio has made it easier for students to share their ideas to the class with the personal screens linked to the board and teachers have noticed a lot of excitement from students to do this.

The Galileo Trust values the strong relationship we’ve built with their staff. We’ve developed a common language around the devices and a mutual understanding of what works well, which will be invaluable as they continue to develop and expand their digital strategy across other schools in the trust.

A Collaborative Success

Through our partnership with the Galileo Multi-Academy Trust, we’ve not only provided necessary technology but also created an environment where continuous feedback and improvement are encouraged. By listening to their needs and offering tailored solutions, we’ve helped the trust enhance teaching and learning experiences across all their schools.

The Galileo Trust’s journey with us highlights the power of a well-thought-out and executed EdTech strategy. We’re excited to continue this journey, supporting their vision for a digitally enriched education system that benefits both teachers and students alike.
